Report: Spurs considering approach for Juventus star in January

According to a report by Calciomercato, Tottenham Hotspur are monitoring Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot and are seriously considering making an approach for him in January.

Rabiot was linked heavily with Spurs while he was still at PSG (The Sun) but eventually ended up moving to Turin on a free in the summer after running down his contract with the French giants.

However, the 24-year-old has not had much game time at Juventus, with Maurizio Sarri having an embarrassment of riches at his disposal in the central midfield position.

The midfielder has failed to impress in the few opportunities he has had so far this season.

The report from Calciomercato claims that Juventus might be willing to let the Frenchman leave in January if he doesn’t improve in the next couple of months.

Spurs are said to favourites to land him at the moment and it is suggested that the Lilywhites could offer Christian Eriksen to the Serie A champions in a part-exchange deal for Rabiot.

Spurs Web Opinion

Mauricio Pochettino seems to be a fan of Rabiot and so it is entirely possible that Spurs could return for him. However, there are major question marks over Rabiot’s attitude and so I doubt if he will be the right fit for our squad. Besides, there are other areas like full back that are in more urgent need of fixing in January.
