Report: Spurs contact agent of former Chelsea boss over managerial vacancy

Football Italia have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have contacted Maurizio Sarri’s representative Fali Ramadani overpotentially replacing Jose Mourinho as the club’s new head coach.

The club have installed Ryan Mason as the interim head coach until the end of the season, with the former Spurs midfielder supported by Chris Powell and Nigel Gibbs.

The Daily Mail previously reported that Julian Nagelsmann is Tottenham’s number one target but the North Londoners are also looking at alternatives like Brendan Rodgers, Graham Potter and Scott Parker since they fear that Bayern Munich will snap up the RB Leipzig boss.

Meanwhile, The Guardian have suggested that Gareth Southgate and Roberto Martinez could also emerge as targets after the conclusion of the European Championships in the summer.

Football Italia have revealed that Sarri is another name on Tottenham’s radar, with the North Londoners contacting the Italian’s agent over taking over at the club next season.

The former Chelsea and Juventus boss is said to be keen to return to management after a sabbatical year.

It is said that Roma would be Sarri’s preferred choice if he chooses to stay in Serie A.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Sarri’s style of football would be in keeping with Tottenham’s traditions, he will be a risky appointment considering that he did not achieve as much as he was expected to at Chelsea. If Naglesmann is not available, I would prefer to see the job go to someone like Scott Parker, who has shown a lot of promising sings in his short managerial career.
