Report: Spurs continue to follow winger who is out of contract this summer

Tottenham may have received a boost in their potential pursuit of Lorenzo Insigne, as Napoli are reportedly struggling to agree on a new contract with the winger, according to Calciomercato.

The 30-year-old is set to be out of contract with the Naples outfit in the summer, but the club are keen to keep him on the books going forward.

Reports surfaced that Insigne is demanding a new contract worth in excess of £110,000 per week, but Napoli are stalling on whether they should match the Italian’s demands.

The report from Calciomercato claims that could be very good news for Tottenham, who are said to be waiting in the wings and keeping tabs on developments at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

Spurs had reportedly been following Insigne’s situation throughout the course of the summer transfer window, but a move never came close to materialising.

Insigne has been one of the best wingers in Europe for a while now, and his contract situation at Napoli looks like one to keep an eye on. No doubt there will be other clubs interested in him and will likely be able to offer a bigger wage packet than Spurs would.
