Report: Spurs continue to hold an interest in 26-year-old wing-back

According to Gazzetta dello Sport (as relayed by Football Italia), Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries remains on Tottenham’s radar.

Spurs are expected to strengthen at right wing-back this summer, with Middlesbrough’s Djed Spence thought to be the club’s top target (The Telegraph).

However, it was previously reported that Dumfries was another option that Antonio Conte’s men were eyeing (Ekrem Konur).

The Netherlands international has been a huge success since his move to the San Siro last summer, having scored five goals and provided seven assists in his first season at Inter (Transfermarkt).

FCInter1908 reported on Friday that Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio is now in London and is expected to meet with Chelsea to discuss a deal for Romelu Lukaku and also hold talks with Spurs regarding Alessandro Bastoni.

Gazzetta have now claimed that Ausilio could also have meetings with Premier League clubs about the potential sale of Dumfries.

The report claims that Spurs, Chelsea and Manchester United have all expressed an interest in the 26-year-old wing-back.

Spurs Web Opinion

A move for Djed Spence might not necessarily rule out a move for Dumfries, with some reports (Daily Express) suggesting that Spurs could sell both Doherty and Emerson this summer, and start the campaign with two new right-backs. However, I do not think that is likely to happen and I expect Doherty to stay at the club.
