Report: Spurs could battle Newcastle for £26m-rated striker in the summer

SportBILD have claimed that Omar Marmoush’s days at Eintracht Frankfurt could be numbered as Tottenham Hotspur are now circling over the striker.

Marmoush is enjoying a fabulous campaign at Frankfurt, with the versatile forward, who can operate as a number nine or on either flank, having scored 15 goals and provided six assists across all competitions so far (Transfermarkt).

SpotBild say that the 25-year-old’s displays have now brought him to the attention of Tottenham, adding that Newcastle United could also challenge the North London side for the player’s services.

Spurs and Newcastle both like Omar Marmoush

The report suggests that the growing feeling at Frankfurt is that Marmoush will leave the Bundesliga side for a bigger club in the summer, particularly if he keeps performing as well as he is at the moment.

It is explained that the German side would be open to a sale of their talismanic attacker, particularly since they need to raise funds in the summer to offset their losses.

With Tottenham and Newcastle circling over the Egypt international, Frankfurt are allegedly hoping to raise €30m (£25.6m) from the player’s sale.

Spurs Web Opinion

With it being common information that Tottenham are after a striker in the summer, we are going to see the club being linked with almost every number nine who is on the market over the next couple of months.

Spurs fans should take these rumours with a pinch of salt for the time being as Postecoglou, Lange and co are likely not going to finalise the list of their top targets until May.
