Report: Spurs could be about to miss out on highly-rated young attacking midfielder

Tottenham Hotspur could be set to miss out on the signing of 15-year-old Charlie Allen.

According to The Scotsman, Allen has now been offered the chance to train with Celtic at Lennoxtown ahead of a potential offer for the highly-rated youngster.

Allen who is currently on the books of Northern Irish side Linfield has already been invited to Tottenham for a trial period with the North London club having stolen a march on the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City and Leicester who are all said interested in his services (Football Insider).

The attacking midfielder became Linfield’s youngest ever debutant – aged just 15 years, 5 months and 5 days when he faced Coleraine in April.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is always good to see us interested in fresh, young talent and its important for us to maintain our club’s philosophy of promoting youth. With a big season ahead though you would like to think that the club would be looking to lock down at least two more new first team signings before the window shuts.

Spurs will certainly have to move quickly to try and tie down the starlet to a deal considering the amount of interest from other clubs.
