Report: Spurs could be handed injury boost ahead of Leeds clash

Sky Sports have revealed that Ryan Sessegnon could be available for Tottenham’s clash against Leeds United on Sunday after recovering from his hamstring strain.

Sessegnon would have hoped to make a real impact at Tottenham this summer after returning from a successful loan spell at Hoffenheim.

However, the England Under-21 international picked up a hamstring problem in September that has kept him out of action.

As a result, the former Fulham man has not played a single minute in the Premier League this season, with his only starts coming in the two legs of the Europa Conference League qualifier against Pacos de Ferreira at the start of the campaign.

Sky Sports now revealed that Sessegnon will return to full training this week after recovering from his injury.

The 21-year-old could thus provide Conte Antonio Conte with a selection boost ahead of the Italian’s first Premier League home game in charge of Spurs.

Spurs Web Opinion

Sessegnon is a natural cover for Reguilon at left-wing-back and so I expect the 21-year-old to be named on the bench on Sunday if he is fit.

Conte’s system suits Sessegnon’s natural game but it remains to be seen if the youngster can force himself into the starting eleven over the coming weeks and months.
