Report: Spurs could be offered Italian international in exchange for Ndombele

According to a report from Italy, Juventus could make an attempt to sign Tanguy Ndombele and may be prepared to offer versatile midfielder Federico Bernardeschi to Spurs in exchange for the Frenchman.

Inter Milan were previously said to be the front runners for Ndombele’s signature, with a possible swap deal with Milan Skriniar being touted by the Italian press (Sky Sports Italia via Sempre Inter).

However, Calcio Mercato now report that Ndombele is not a priority for Inter this summer, with Antonio Conte also having an eye on other targets.

It is said that Ndombele is in Juventus’ sights with the recently appointed Andre Pirlo looking to put his stamp on his squad ahead of the new season.

The Serie A champions could make an offer for the former Lyon man but it is claimed that they will not be to meet the asking price which Spurs have set for the midfielder.

It is said that Juve could be looking to propose a part-exchange deal to Tottenham with Bernardeschi suggested as the most likely player to be offered.

The 26-year-old saw his opportunities limited last season after he ended the campaign with just two goals and three assists (transfermarket.com) and it is suggested that he would be open to a move to the Premier League.

Spurs Web Opinion

Reports seem to indicate that apart from another striker and a centre-back, Jose Mourinho does also want to bring in another attacking midfielder/winger. We have been linked with the likes of David Brooks, Nicolo Zaniolo, and predictably Gareth Bale recently.

Bernardeschi does not strike me as a Mourinho type of signing but Manchester United were linked with the Italian when Jose was in charge. So, it will be interesting to see if the Spurs boss would be interested in adding the 26-year-old to his squad.
