Liverpool could be set to face competition from Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal for Inter Milan’s Nicolo Barella.
La Gazzetta dello Sport revealed that Liverpool have already began talks over a deal for the midfielder over the potential of him moving to Anfield this summer, however, the two North London-based clubs are now stepping up their interest.
Barella was named in Roberto Mancini’s starting eleven for Italy’s Euro 2020 opener against Turkey last night, which the home side won 3-0.
Former AC Milan and Italy boss Fabio Capello recently praised the 24-year-old’s ability accurately cross from the right-hand side, along with his pace and vision with the ball at his feet (Sky Italia).
Tottenham’s midfield options need refreshing this summer with Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko both hopefully heading out of the exit in place of players who actually look to pass the ball forward and get involved in the final third.
