Report: Spurs could break transfer record only to send star out on loan

Reports this week have hinted that Ryan Sessegnon’s Fulham future may be in doubt after the teenager’s contract talks have apparently stalled (Daily Mail).

Sessegnon is out of contract in the summer of 2020, meaning that Fulham will either have to convince him to sign a new deal, or sell him before his value drops.

Manchester United and PSG are both said to be interested in acquiring the 18-year-old’s signature, however, Spurs are also said to be plotting a move for the winger.

Tottenham are said to be prepared to bid a club record fee of £50m for the attacker, surpassing the fee they paid for central defender Davinson Sanchez.

However, the latest development claims that Spurs may then loan the Fulham star back to his current club, who will likely then be in the Championship once more (Daily Mail).

It is rather rare for a Premier League club to break their transfer record before merely loaning the player out, but could this be the best move for all involved?
