The Daily Mail have claimed that Manchester United could join Tottenham Hotspur in the race for Christian Eriksen’s signature in the summer.
Eriksen has made a great impact on his return to competitive football following the harrowing cardiac arrest he suffered during the European Championship last summer.
The former Spurs man has proven a great addition for Brentford after penning a six-month contract with the Bees in January.
The attacking midfielder found the back of the net in both of Denmark’s fixtures during the international break on his return to the Danish set up and he continued his goalscoring form over the weekend at Stamford Bridge as Thomas Frank’s men emerged 4-1 winners over Chelsea.
Antonio Conte hinted back in February that he would be open to the prospect of the midfielder completing a fairytale return to Spurs in the summer having worked with the playmaker at Inter Milan last season where they won the Serie A title (Stadium Astro).
However, The Times reported recently that Brentford are hopeful that Eriksen would pen a long-term contract with the club out of a sense of loyalty.
The Mail have revealed that the 30-year-old’s impressive displays have attracted the attention of his former employer along with United.

Both Spurs and Man Utd are said to be monitoring Eriksen’s progress closely ahead of the summer transfer window in which the Dane would be available on a free transfer unless he puts pen to paper with the Bees.
Spurs Web Opinion
Eriksen has shown over the past couple of months that he still has a lot to offer and Spurs are likely to be in the market for a number 8/10 in the summer, given that neither Ndombele nor Lo Celso seem like they have a future at the club.
The fact that the Dane is available on a free transfer, understands Conte’s system and knows Spurs inside out, would make his signing a no-brainer.
It would also mean that the club could allocate their transfer budget to other areas of the pitch like the centre-back and the wing-back areas.
