Report: Spurs could face competition from three PL clubs for midfielder

Tottenham could face plenty of competition for midfielder Franck Kessie, with several other Premier League clubs also eyeing the AC Milan man, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Spurs were heavily linked with a move for Kessie during the summer transfer window but despite having less than twelve months left to run on his contract, the midfielder ended up staying put at the San Siro.

Some sources have claimed that the Lilywhites could try to land the 24-year-old for free next summer while it has also been suggested that Milan could cash in on Kessie for a mere £7.5m in January.

Gazzetta have now explained that Kessie has rejected the Rossoneri’s latest offer of a deal worth £110,000-a-week that would have kept him at the San Siro until 2026.

The Ivory Coast international is thought to be asking for £130,000-a-week and it is suggested that Milan are not willing to meet the midfielder’s demands, with the gap between the parties being labelled as “unbridgeable”.

The report adds that Kessie has plenty of admirers in the Premier League, with Arsenal, Everton and Liverpool ready to challenge Spurs for the midfielder’s signature.

Spurs Web Opinion

Paratici certainly has his work cut out to snap up Kessie as the Ivorian will have no shortage of options. I suspect we will find it difficult to convince the Milan man to join us if we find ourselves a long way behind the top four in January.
