Report: Spurs could face three-way battle for Premier League star

Tottenham Hotspur could possibly find themselves in a three way battle for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha.

The Express are reporting that North London rivals Arsenal are also keen on the 26-year-old, however, the most surprising aspect of the story is that Manchester United are also rumoured to be interested in bringing him back to Old Trafford.

He was Sir Alex Ferguson’s final signing at United before he retiring in 2013 and failed to make an impact under David Moyes, making just four appearances before he was sold back to Palace.

Zaha recently revealed in an interview with the Daily Mail that he has the ambition to test himself in the Champions League and challenge for trophies.

The Ivory Coast international only signed a new deal at Selhurst Park last August until the 2022-23 season which is worth a reported £130,000-a-week (Guardian).

The report suggests that all three potential suitors believe that Zaha is overvalued by Palace at £75million and may want to see if they are prepared to lower their asking price.

Zaha would add some much-needed width and creativity to Tottenham’s final third. His trickery and pace is something which we are crying out for, when Christian Eriksen is off his game there are not many others in the Spurs squad who can step up and create opportunities. However, his reported salary could pose to be a potential problem for Spurs.

If a deal could be done to bring Zaha to North London, it would certainly represent a step in the right direction
