Report: Spurs could face transfer valuation headache in attempt to sign winger

TuttoJuve have revealed that there is a considerable gap between what Tottenham Hotspur are willing to pay for Samuel Iling-Junior and the fee that Juventus want for the youngster.

We have brought to you several updates over the last month regarding Tottenham’s pursuit of Iling-Junior, with many Italian outlets claiming that the Lilywhites are at the front of the queue to sign the 20-year-old (TMW).

Late last month, Football Insider even claimed that the England Under-21 international is Ange Postecoglou’s ‘dream signing’ while TuttoSport (via Sport Witness) stated last week that Spurs had already opened talks with the Old Lady over a €20m (£17.4m) deal for the winger.

Spurs could face transfer stalemate for Iling-Junior

However, TuttoSport have now suggested that Spurs’ pursuit of Iling-Junior has hit a roadblock since the Premier League side are not willing to meet Juventus’ asking price.

The report states that Tottenham have informed Juventus that they would not pay more than €12m (£10.2m) for the Islington-born product.

However, as things stand, the Bianconeri have reportedly made it clear that they want around €18m-€20m (£15.4m-£17.1m) to let the Chelsea academy graduate leave.

Spurs Web Opinion

A difference of £5m is quite substantial, given that we are only taking about quite a low fee in the first place. I would hope that the differences would be ironed out between the clubs as we get closer to the January window.

Tottenham do run the risk of missing out on Illing-Junior since other Premier League clubs are bound to enter the race for the 20-year-old sooner rather than later.
