Report: Spurs could fine current star for recent reckless behaviour

Tottenham Hotspur could fine Serge Aurier for breaking the government’s lockdown guidelines earlier this week, according to the Guardian.

The defender posted a picture of himself on Instagram after getting a haircut, alongside his barber Justin Carr.

This was the second time that the right-back has been seen breaking the lockdown protocols after posting a video of him jogging alongside Moussa Sissoko last month.

Evening Standard’s Dan Kilpatrick claimed that Spurs are investigating the circumstances behind the Instagram post before deciding on a course of action.

Aurier took to social media on Wednesday to blast critics and insisted that he was well within his rights to get a haircut since both he and his barber had tested negative.

The Guardian point out that hairdressers remain closed under government regulations.

They add that the club are exasperated by the 27-year-old’s behaviour and could fine him in the coming days for his latest breach.

What was especially stupid about Aurier’s behaviour was that he himself posted evidence of him breaking the lockdown protocol on social media on both occasions, rather than being spotted outside by strangers. He really should have at least learned his lesson after his first mistake.
