Report: Spurs could land former £50m target for £25m

Ryan Sessegnon has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur for the past couple of seasons.

Prior to Fulham’s promotion to the Premier League, Sessegnon was valued as much as £50million by the Cottagers.

The 18-year-old has experienced a difficult first campaign in the English top flight and has failed to live up to the high expectations which many had set for him.

Sessegnon is out of contract at the end of next season and is expected to leave the club for around £25million, rather than walk away for just £500,000 a year later.

The Sun report that Tottenham are leading the race to sign the left-sided player with Paris Saint-German and Manchester United both also closely monitoring the situation.

Wages would not pose to be a problem if Sessegnon were to move to North London, however, one potential stumbling block is said to be the possibility that he will see out his deal at Craven Cottage and move for free, with German giants Borussia Dortmund ready to pounce if the situation unfolds.

Sessegnon would certainly add some pace down the left side of Mauricio Pochettino’s side and if there is one person who can get the best out of him, it would be the Spurs boss.
