Report: Spurs could land promising midfielder for just £30m this summer

Football Insider claim that Leicester City may be prepared to sell Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to Tottenham Hotspur for a cut-price fee this summer due to their financial problems.

Dewsbury-Hall has continued to develop impressively over the last couple of years and has looked a cut above the rest in the Championship so far this campaign.

The versatile midfielder, who can play as a six, eight or in a box-to-box role, has been one of the main driving forces behind Leicester’s promotion hopes, having managed 12 goals and 13 assists in 41 outings in the Championship so far (Transfermarkt).

It was reported by talkSPORT earlier this month that Spurs had entered the race to sign the 25-year-old and were ready to battle Brighton for the player’s services this summer.

Dewsbury-Hall could cost just £30m

Football Insider now claim that Leicester would have to sell Dewsbury-Hall for a relatively low fee if they fail to win promotion to the Premier League.

It is revealed that while the Foxes wanted well above £40m for the midfielder during the January window, they would be prepared to accept a fee of around £30m-£40m for the player this summer.

This is because the Midlands club are in a perilous financial position and are in danger of falling foul of the Profit and Sustainability regulations unless they raise significant funds this summer through player sales.

Spurs Web Opinion

Dewsbury-Hall fits the profile of the young, English, energetic number eight that Tottenham appear to be after this summer. However, one would expect the Leicester star to be behind Conor Gallagher and Morgan Gibbs-White on Ange Postecoglou’s wishlist.
