Report: Spurs could look to complete £84m double-raid on Serie A club

Inter Live have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur could make a move for Inter Milan duo Stefan De Vrij and Lautaro Martinez when the transfer window opens in the summer.

The report explains that Conte wants readymade reinforcements to improve the Spurs squad in the summer and is keen on reuniting with the Inter duo in North London.

It is suggested that Fabio Paratici is thus ready to raid Inter for De Vrij and Martinez, with the Spurs managing director set to table a total offer of around €90m-€100m (£75m-£83.3m) for the pair.

However, it is said that the Nerrazuri will hold out for an offer in the region of €110m- €120m (£91.6m-£100m) for the central defender and the forward when the transfer window reopens.

In addition to De Vrij and Martinez, it is asserted that Conte could also push the club to pursue Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea if Harry Kane leaves Spurs in the summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

I do not think De Vrij fits the profile of player Spurs usually pursue in the transfer market, given that the Dutchman is now on the wrong side of 30. Besides, in Eric Dier, Conte already has someone who understands the demands of the central sweeper role very well.

I expect the Italian to prioritise a move for a left-sided centre-back like Botman in the summer. A move for Martinez on the other hand would make sense for Spurs but the striker is likely to prove fairly expensive, given that he only signed a new deal with Inter a few months ago.
