Report: Spurs could look to complete double-deal for manager and player

According to Algemeen Dagblad (23/05/23 as relayed by Sport Witness), Tottenham Hotspur could look to complete a double deal for Arne Slot and Feyenoord midfielder Orkun Kokcu.

The Daily Mail reported on Monday that Slot’s representatives are expected to meet with the Feyenoord hierarchy this week to express the Dutchman’s intention to leave the club.

This information has now been backed up by Algemeen Dagblad, who state that the 44-year-old’s agent Rafaela Pimenta is set to meet with the club’s general manager, Dennis te Kloese soon.

The publication claims that Spurs have ‘made it clear’ to Pimenta that they want his client, who is keen on taking over at the North London club this summer.

The report adds that even though Feyenoord will likely ‘take a tough stance’ when Pimenta explains Slot’s wish to leave them for Spurs, the Dutch club are expected to allow their head coach to join the Premier League side.

AD add that Feyenoord captain Orkun Kokcu could also follow Arne Slot to N17, with Te Kloese said to be aware of Tottenham’s interest in the Turkey international.

Slot might well ask the Spurs hierarchy to bring Kokcu to the club this summer but I doubt that the two deals would be done simultaneously by Tottenham.

The first step up would be to get a deal for the 44-year-old over the line so that the Lilywhites can start planning for the summer transfer window.
