Report: Spurs could look to sign 22-year-old to offer competition for Hojbjerg

According to Fichajes, Tottenham Hotspur could look to swoop for Marseille midfielder Boubacar Kamara this summer.

Kamara has enjoyed a fabulous campaign for Marseille but the youngster’s future is up in the air, with his current deal with the Ligue 1 club running out at the end of the season (Transfermarkt).

Goal reported last month that Spurs hold an interest in the France Under-21 international but stated that Atletico Madrid were the front-runners for the midfielder’s signature.

Fichajes have now named Tottenham as one of five potential destinations for Kamara when his contract at Orange Velodrome runs out in the summer.

The report claims the North London club have an appealing enough sporting project and the financial muscle to attract the Marseille star.

It is explained that the Lilywhites would want the Frenchman to compete with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg for a place in the starting eleven.

However, Fichajes add that Spurs face competition from the likes of Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich, Juventus and Crystal Palace for Kamara’s signature.

Spurs Web Opinion

Hojbjerg and Bentancur have seemingly formed a formidable partnership while Skipp was having a brilliant season until his injury. It is worth remembering that Pape Matar Sarr will also arrive at Spurs in the summer following his loan spell at Metz.

So, I cannot see us signing more than one central midfielder, potentially as a replacement for Winks. I expect the club to go for a relatively low-cost option, and so Kamara might indeed fit the bill.
