Football Insider have asserted that Tottenham Hotspur could make a ‘huge offer’ for Callum Hudson-Odoi quite early in the summer transfer window.

The report backs up what we have heard from other outlets over recent weeks by stating that Nottingham Forest may be forced to sell some of their assets as they aim to ensure they do not fall foul of PSR for the second season in a row.

It is explained that Forest need to raise funds before the end of June, thus presenting Spurs with an opportunity to complete a deal for Hudson-Odoi early in the window.

The report claims that the Lilywhites have held a ‘long-term interest’ in the 23-year-old and have been monitoring his performances at the City Ground closely this season.

Tottenham have previously raided Forest when they shelled out £47.5million for Brennan Johnson on deadline day last summer (Sky Sports).

Nottingham Forest could make a nice profit on Hudson-Odoi

The North London club reportedly view the former Chelsea man as one of the brightest young talents in the country and could be prepared to submit a big offer for him in the early days of the transfer window.

Football Insider suggest that any sale would likely see Forest make a ‘huge’ profit on the player they signed for just £5m from Stamford Bridge last summer.

Lastly, the publication adds that Ange Postecoglou’s men are expected to face competition from several other Premier League sides as well as foreign clubs for Hudson-Odoi’s signature.

Hudson-Odoi ended the season with 35 appearances across all competitions for Forest, scoring eight goals (transfermarkt).

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham’s rumoured interest in Hudson-Odoi and Gibbs-White is likely linked to Forest’s financial situation, with Spurs perhaps wanting to take advantage to land bargain deals.

The English winger does tick a lot of boxes for the Lilywhites, being homegrown and having the kind of directness that Postecoglou likes in his wide players.
