Report: Spurs could make a move for 19-year-old right-back

90 min have claimed that Borussia Monchengladbach right-back Joe Scally is of interest to Tottenham Hotspur.

Multiple reports over the last few weeks have indicated that Tottenham are expected to strengthen at right wing-back during the January transfer window.

It was suggested earlier this month that Spurs were exploring the possibility of re-signing Kyle Walker-Peters from Southampton and were also monitoring Norwich City’s Max Aarons (90 min).

Meanwhile, reports from Italy over recent weeks have indicated that Antonio Conte wants to raid Inter Milan for Denzel Dumfries, with the Spurs boss allegedly viewing the Netherlands international as the ideal replacement for Emerson Royal (CMW.it).

If 90 min’s latest update is to be believed, Scally is yet another option that Tottenham have their eye on.

The USA international has thrived since breaking into Gladbach’s senior side last season and has started every single Bundesliga game for the club so far this campaign (Transfermarkt).

90 min state that Spurs are keeping a ‘watchful eye’ on the 19-year-old and have been impressed by the youngster. The report adds that Scally is also on Manchester United’s radar.

Spurs Web Opinion

We already have a young, up-and-coming right wing-back in the form of Djed Spence. So, if we sign another youngster for the same position, that will perhaps be proof that Conte and his coaching staff do not rate the England Under-21 international.

I believe that the Tottenham boss is likely to want a more established right-back to come through the door in January rather than another player for the future.
