Report: Spurs could make late bid for Bayern Munich first-team regular

Tottenham Hotspur could look to make a late move for Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich, if they fail to wrap up a deal for Conor Gallagher, according to Football Insider.

The report claims that the Bundesliga champions are prepared to listen to offers for the German international ths month is they recieve an offer in the region of £40-60million.

Kimmich has been a mainstay in the Bayern midfield in recent years, however, despite his status as a first-team regular, Tottenham could turn their attention to him.

Chelsea captain Conor Gallagher has been heavily linked with a move to north London for some time as Ange Postecoglou looks to improve his midfield options.

Would Joshua Kimmich want to join Spurs?

Kimmich missed Bayern’s match at Augsburg on Wednesday evening with a shoulder injury, a match which his side won 3-1 which saw former Spur Harry Kane once again getting himself on the scoresheet (transfermarkt).

The 28-year-old is in the last 18 months of his contract at the Allianz Arena and is yet to agree terms on a new deal.

It is clear that Tottenham need to improve their central midfield options with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg showing his weaknesses in Friday’s 1-0 FA Cup defeat to Manchester City.

It would be surprising if Kimmich was prepared to swap Bayern for Tottenham at this stage of the season and whether Daniel Levy would be prepared to splash out around £60m in the January window.

Spurs are likely to have a better chance of landing big names in the summer if they are able to seal a return to the Champions League.
