Report: Spurs could make move for experienced AC Milan star

According to a report from Calcio Mercato, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing AC Milan centre-back, Alessio Romagnoli.

The 26-year-old has been a mainstay in the Milan backline since 2016 but he has just 12 months left to run on his contract at the San Siro.

Calcio Mercato explains that while the Rossoneri do not wish to lose the centre-back, they could be forced to cash in on him if he does not sign a new contract.

The Italian international is also said to be attracting interest from Juventus and Barcelona.

Tottenham’s interest is said to be driven by the club’s new managing director of football, Fabio Paratici and the soon-to-be-announced new head coach, Paulo Fonseca, both of whom know Romagnoli well.

Spurs have already been linked with several central defenders, including the likes of Joachim Andersen, Jannik Vestergaard and Nikola Milenkovic, with a big shakeup expected in the position.

Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez have also both been linked with moves away from North London.
