Report: Spurs could make move for young striker once dubbed as ‘mini-Haaland’

According to Bild, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in RB Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko, who has been likened to Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Haaland.

Sesko is the latest young striker to come through Salzburg’s production line, with Goal.com describing the 18-year-old as ‘mini-Haaland’ last year.

The youngster has shown plenty of promise after breaking into Matthias Jaissle’s first-team but he is yet to establish himself as a regular in the starting eleven, coming off the bench for the majority of his 15 appearances in the Austrian Bundesliga this season (Transfermarkt).

Sesko has certainly shown that he has an eye for goal, finding the back of the net seven times across all competitions so far.

Bild have revealed that Tottenham have their eye on the teenager ahead of the summer transfer window.

However, the North Londoners could face plenty of competition for Sesko’s signature, with the striker also said to be of interest to Liverpool and Bayern Munich.

Spurs Web Opinion

Reports have indicated (Daily Mail) that Paratici will target young, up and coming talents in the summer. So, it is not surprising that Spurs have their eye on Sesko.

However, I do wonder how this will sit with Conte, who made it clear that Spurs need experienced players to close the gap with the best sides in the Premier League (Sky Sport Italia).

One would hope that these sorts of signings are being viewed by Paratici and co as being independent of their efforts to strengthen the first team.
