Calciomercato have claimed that Tottenham continue to hold a ‘strong, concrete interest’ in Dusan Vlhaovic and are prepared to make a player plus cash offer for the Fiorentina striker this summer.
Reports emerged from Italy a couple of days ago claiming that Tottenham representatives are set to meet with Vlahovic’s agent to understand whether a deal to bring the Serbian to North London will be feasible this summer.
However, it was suggested that Atletico Madrid had so far come the closest to meeting Fiorentina’s €70m (£59.2m) valuation of the striker.
CalcioMercato have now put the Viola’s asking price for Vlhavoic at a comparatively more modest €60m (£50.8m), a price which Spurs are allegedly ready to meet.
It is also asserted that the North London club could offer around €40m (£33.8m) and a player like Davinson Sanchez in exchange for the 21-year-old.
The report goes on to reveal that the Serie A club still retain hope of tying Vlahovic down to a new contract. However, Fiorentina’s insistence on a release clause is explained to be a sticking point between the parties which Tottenham would hope to exploit.
Spurs Web Opinion
I am in the minority of Spurs fans who would prefer Vlahovic over Martinez. If we are to sell Kane, one would expect us to potentially try to sign both.
The Serbian is certainly much more of a number nine than the Inter star and in that respect, would be a more direct replacement for the England captain.
