Report: Spurs could make ‘serious’ bid to beat PSG and Barcelona to starlet

Fichajes have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur face quite a bit of competition for Fenerbahce starlet Arda Guler but the North London club could make a big offer for the youngster to land a decisive blow.

Tottenham’s interest in Guler first came to light earlier this month when Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli (17/11/22 via Tutto Napoli) reported that the North London club were eyeing a move for the 17-year-old in January.

The report revealed that the teenager was also on Napoli’s radar, with the Serie A club alleged to be plotting a move for the attacking midfielder during next summer’s transfer window.

Italian journalist Valter De Maggio revealed a few days ago (Radio Goal via Area Napoli) that there is a release clause of just €5m (£4.3m) in the Fenerbahce man’s contract, which can be activated until he has played 1500 minutes for the Turkish club, after which the clause will rise to €20m (£17.3m).

Fichajes have now revealed that Tottenham do not just face competition from Napoli for Guler’s signature but also from Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

The report states that the Catalonian club are ‘very attentive’ to the youngster’s growth while the Parisians are also ‘very interested’ in the midfielder.

The publication adds that Spurs could bet on Guler with a ‘serious amount of money’ and that ‘a succulent offer’ from the North London club in January might be enough to blow the other competitors out of the water.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham’s interest in Guler has Fabio Paratici’s fingerprints written all over it. Apart from the transfer fee, another factor that could perhaps tempt Fenerbahce to do business with Spurs, is that the North London club would potentially be open to loaning the 17-year-old back to the Turkish club.
