Report: Spurs could miss out on £25m signing to follow his Arsenal ‘ultimate dream’

Spurs are one of many teams who have been linked with Ajax sensation Hakim Ziyech (Daily Mail).

The Moroccan picked up his second consecutive Player of the Year award in Amsterdam thanks to his 21 goals and 24 assists this season.

The 26-year-old’s performances in the Champions League have caught the attention of several European giants.

The skillful left-footer, who got on the score sheet against Tottenham in the Champions League semi-final second leg, is reportedly looking to leave the club this summer and Ajax sporting director Marc Overmars has confirmed that the Moroccan, who has a release clause of £25million, will be allowed to leave this summer (De Telegraaf).

However, the attacking winger might prefer a move to Spurs’ North London rivals Arsenal, with the Sun having revealed that the star once told Ajax TV that a move to Arsenal would be a dream.

According to the report, when asked by then team-mate Justin Kluivert who would he like to play for, Ziyech told the club’s official channel, “Well, I have two clubs. They are Arsenal and Barcelona. That is my ultimate dream.”

The report also claims that the Ajax man named Mesut Ozil as his role model.

Tottenham do need to add another goal scoring winger into their squad if Pochettino wishes to employ the 4-3-3 formation on a regular basis next season.

If not Ziyech, there are plenty of other quality wide forwards out there but there is no doubt that at £25million, the 26-year-old will be a great acquisition for whoever gets him.
