Report: Spurs could move for Manchester United player in the summer

Tottenham Hotspur will look to make an approach for Manchester United’s Nemanja Matic this summer should he become available.

Football.London claim that the Serbian will be on the radar of the Champions League finalists if he fails to extend his contract at Old Trafford.

Matic’s current deal expires at the end of the campaign but does include an option for United to trigger an extension clause to extend his stay by a further year.

The report suggests that Spurs will only look to make a move if United unexpectedly do not take up the offer of the extension and are unprepared to enter a bidding war.

United are reported to be keen to part company with the holding midfielder who will be 32 in the summer and would be looking for around £15million to part company (Metro).

Mourinho managed Matic at both Chelsea and Manchester United is still said to maintain a strong relationship with the player (Metro).
