Report: Spurs could move to replace Kane with Barcelona striker – West Ham also interested

According to a report from Spanish publication Sport, Tottenham Hotspur could move for Barcelona forward Martin Braithwaite should Harry Kane depart the club this summer.

Braithwaite has struggled to make much of an impact at the Camp Nou since his move from Leganes at the start of last year.

Sport claim the Catalan club have decided to cash in on the forward this summer as they go about reducing their wage bill.

The report claims  West Ham have already held talks with Barcelona regarding the 30-year-old and have put a firm offer in place.

However, it is explained that the Hammers are not Braithwaite’s prefered destination and the player has asked for more time to see if Tottenham make an approach.

It is asserted the North London club will sign two strikers if Kane departs this summer and that the Barcelona man is one of the names on the club’s shortlist.

Braithwaite is nowhere near the quality of player we should be going after to replace Kane. I would be surprised if there is any truth to this report as the Denmark international does not fit with the profile of players Fabio Paratici has gone after this window.
