CalcioMercatoWeb.it have revealed that Tottenham are ready to push ahead with a move for AC Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer.

CMW.it claim that the 25-year-old’s displays have caught the eye of both Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici, with the Spurs head coach said to be keen on bringing the player to Spurs.

The report adds that Tottenham are not the only club after the Algerian international, who is said to be of interest to ‘numerous clubs’ around Europe.

It is asserted that Milan will not allow Bennacer to leave unless they receive a ‘substantial offer’ for him in January.

CWW.it state that it would take an offer of around €40m (£34.9m) to get the Rossoneri to the negotiating table and that Spurs could be prepared to make an offer of some kind.

Spurs Web Opinion

Unlike Sofyan Amrabat, who has been heavily linked with a move to Spurs over recent weeks, Bennacer would be a much better fit for the profile of midfielder Conte is likely after. The 25-year-old is capable of playing as a number six of a two-man midfield in a 3-5-2 but can also operate as a number eight in a 3-4-3.
