Report: Spurs could prepare swap deal in bid to hijack Man United transfer

Tottenham Hotspur made a bid to sign Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon back in the summer, but their offer was deemed not attractive enough for the Portuguese outfit (Standard).

However, the Lilywhites may be making a New Years push to sign the midfield yet again this month, as one report claims Daniel Levy may have a swap deal up his sleeve.

Fernandes himself recently admitted that Tottenham was the only club he agreed to talk to back in the summer, and that they were the club to make the biggest effort to sign him (Record).

Jose Mourinho said this season that Fernandes was now out of the reach of Tottenham, which would tend to rule out a bid, but we know how the Special One loves to play games (Daily Mail).

The latest twist comes as Football London say Daniel Levy may offer Juan Foyth on loan to Sporting in order to bring the price down a little.

The Portuguese club are said to be in financial difficulties and Spurs will look to take advantage, attempting to hijack Man United’s attempts to sign the player.
