Report: Spurs could replace Ndombele with 25-year-old Serie A star

According to Sky Sport Italia (as relayed by TuttoMercatoWeb), Tottenham Hotspur could make a move for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat if Tanguy Ndombele leaves the club before the end of the month.

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly in talks with Tottenham over signing Ndombele on loan until the end of the season (Fabrizio Romano).

Sky Sport Italia now claim that Antonio Conte has identified Amrabat as a potential replacement for the French international should he complete a move to Paris.

Amrabat had an impressive first season at the Artemio Franchi Stadium after joining the Voila in the summer of 2020.

However, the midfielder has found himself struggling for game time under Vincenzo Italiano this campaign, with the majority of his league appearances coming from the bench (Transfermarkt).

The 25-year-old is currently with the Morocco squad at the African Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

Sky Italy claim that Amrabat is also of interest to Torino but suggest that Spurs could win the race for the midfielder.

Spurs Web Opinion

I would be extremely surprised if there is any truth at all to this report. Not only is Amrabat a completely different profile of player to Ndombele but given his struggles at Fiorentina, I do not see how he could hope to get any game time at Spurs.
