Report: Spurs could replace Nuno with manager they held talks with in summer

The Mirror have reported that Tottenham are now considering Nuno Espirito Santo’s future and could take another look at Paulo Fonseca.

The report claims that Fonseca is among the favourites for the Newcastle United job following Steve Bruce’s sacking, but he may move back in the frame for the North London hot seat if Daniel Levy and co pull the plug on Nuno.

This all comes after Tottenham lost yet another big six-game at home on Saturday, falling to a 3-0 defeat against a struggling Man United who didn’t really have to get out of third gear.

The Telegraph have reported today that Nuno could even face an immediate sacking following a run of poor form and a toxic reaction from the crowd against United.

Spurs held talks with Fonseca in the summer before Nuno was appointed but Fabio Paratici reportedly had reservations about the attacking former Roma coach (Sky Sports).

Spurs Web Opinion:

We can’t do the whole merry-go-round again. If Tottenham sack Nuno, they either have to accept the lack of options and give the job to Mason for the season or they have to pick one target and get it over the line quickly.
