Report: Spurs could revive interest in £5.9m star after move to London rivals collapses

According to Sport 5, Tottenham Hotspur are ready to pounce on Shakhtar Donetsk star Manor Solomon after the winger’s proposed transfer to Fulham fell through this week.

Solomon has been one of Shakhtar’s most consistent performers over the last couple of years and the wide man was enjoying another impressive campaign this time out before the Ukrainian top-flight was cancelled in February following Russia’s invasion (Republic World).

It was previously reported that Tottenham were eyeing a move for the Israeli international (TEAMtalk) but Fulham subsequently emerged as the front-runners for his signature last month (The Telegraph’s John Percy).

Just when it looked like the 22-year-old was bound for Craven Cottage, Fabrizio Romano reported last week that the winger’s move to the newly-promoted Premier League side was set to collapse.

Sport 5 have now confirmed that Solomon proposed move to Marco Silva’s side has now completely fallen through.

The report explains that Spurs had expressed an interest in the winger earlier this year but decided to steer clear once it became evident he was on his way to Fulham.

However, with the move now having collapsed, it is asserted that Antonio Conte’s side are ready to revive their interest in Solomon.

Sport 5 claim that Shaktar want €7m (£5.9m) for the youngster and the asking price is not expected to be an issue for Spurs.

Spurs Web Opinion

One would expect Spurs to be aiming for a higher calibre of player than Solomon even if Conte is only looking for a squad player. I suspect that the Tottenham head coach will likely want to sign a versatile forward who can play across the front three.
