Report: Spurs could sign Ajax star for just £40m in the summer

If you can’t beat them, sign them. Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing in-form Ajax attacker Hakim Ziyech this summer.

The Daily Mail have claimed that their sources say Ajax are willing to sell their star players come the end of the season, as long as the right prices are met.

For example, Frenkie de Jong, the club’s star midfielder, has already agreed to join Barcelona at the end of the season for £65m.

Ziyech, the 26-year-old Moroccan international, has bagged 18 goals this season already, and impressive return for a winger.

The Daily Mail also claims that Tottenham have already been scouting the player for 18 months, and could get him for £40m in the summer.

Spurs have a good relationship with Ajax when it comes to buying players, as Christian Eriksen, Jan Vertonghen, and Davinson Sanchez were all purchased from the Dutch side.

Tottenham may be looking to raid the impressive young team yet again this season.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Tottenham Hotspur should sign Ziyech if they can get him for £40m, but they shouldn’t stop there. The likes of Matthijs de Ligt, Donny Van de Beek, and David Neres all look like fantastic young prospects and could give Tottenham the foundations of a fantastic team for years to come. My main two picks from these four would be Van de Beek and de Ligt.
