Report: Spurs could sign Premier League star before the end of June

Football Insider have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur will table an early summer offer for Conor Gallager as the North London club are aware of Chelsea’s need to raise funds before the end of June.

Gallagher is set to enter the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge and it is claimed that Chelsea are willing to listen to offers for the player to help balance their finances.

The report explains that the Blues are ‘on the brink’ of breaching’ the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules and would need to offload some of their assets before the cut-off date of June 30 to avoid sanctions.

The outlet points out that the 24-year-old is one of the players Chelsea would offload as the fee they receive for him would represent pure profit in their accounts.

Tottenham’s plan to sign Conor Gallagher

Football Insider say that Tottenham are aware of the West London club’s situation and will thus make an approach early in the window.

However, it is alleged that the Lilywhites will drive a ‘hard bargain’ and will look to ‘low-ball’ their London rivals in an effort to take advantage of their desperation.

The publication asserts that while Chelsea will ask for £50m for Gallagher, Ange Postecoglou’s men make an initial bid between £30m-£40m for the England international.

Spurs Web Opinion

It would certainly make sense for Tottenham and the other clubs across the Premier League to take advantage of Chelsea’s desperation to try and sign some of their players on a cut-price fee close to the June 30 deadline.

The Blues would be hoping that there is a bidding war for Gallagher, which pushes his price up but with the 23-year-old having just a year left on his contract, he will have a lot of power in choosing his next destination.
