Report: Spurs could sign top midfield powerhouse target this month

With the Champions League in the past, Spurs will now be looking towards how they can make it back to the prestigious final.

After 16 months of transfer hiatus from the North London club, they will surely splash the cash this summer, with gaps to fill in their squad.

Pochettino has yet to replace one of his regular starters from the past five years in Mousa Dembele, after the big Belgian transferred away in January this year.

One man who has been tipped to fill Mousa’s shoes is Lyon powerhouse midfielder Tanguy Ndombele (talkSPORT), with the latest report hinting that a deal could be done this month.

Le 10 Sport claim that Lyon are keen to sell the midfielder before June 30, presumably to give them time to spend the resulting transfer fee.

The French side have put a huge £70m price tag over Ndombele’s head (Daily Star), although he has looked to be worth every penny with his performances this season.

Spurs Web Opinion:

The Champions League is over, and the longer Spurs now wait, the more chance that someone else will swoop in with an attractive bid. While I don’t think Tottenham should be paying over £70m for the player, they should be putting in some big bids in the coming weeks before it is too late.
