Report: Spurs could try to convince Conte to stay with big-money striker

Inter Live have revealed that Tottenham could launch a big-money move for Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez in an effort to convince Antonio Conte to commit his future to the club.

CMW.it suggested last month that Spurs hold an interest in Martinez and that Inter would be open to selling the Argentine for a fee of around €70m-€80m (£62.3-£71.2m) in order to balance their books.

Tottenham’s interest in the 25-year-old has now been backed up by Inter Live, who claim that Conte will be promised a war chest of €200m (£175.1m) if signs a new contract in North London.

It is explained that the 53-year-old would want to reunite with Martinez, who Fabio Paratici is also thought to be a fan of.

The report states that Inter might thus have to try and resist another ‘onslaught’ from Spurs for the Argentina international after previously rejecting a big offer from the Premier League club for the player in 2021.

Spurs Web Opinion

I do not see Spurs spending £60m plus on Martinez when we already have Kane, Son, Kulusevski and Richarlison. That money should be used to improve other areas of the pitch.

I suspect that the main reason we made a big offer for Martinez in the summer of 2021 was due to the uncertainty over Kane’s future at the time.
