Report: Spurs could turn attention to £70m-rated striker this summer

InterLive.it have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur could make a move for Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez if they lose Harry Kane this summer.

The speculation over Kane’s future continues to intensify as we get closer to the summer transfer window.

Sky Sports reported earlier this week that while there are fears at Spurs that the striker may not sign a new contract, Daniel Levy has insisted that the 29-year-old will not be sold regardless of whether he puts pen to paper on a new deal.

However, InterLive have now suggested that Spurs would be open to cashing in on Kane this summer if they receive an offer of around €120m (£106.2m) for their talisman.

The report adds that should the England captain leave, the chances of Tottenham making a move for Martinez would ‘grow dramatically’.

It is explained that Inter would have to raise funds to offset their losses if they fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League, with the Argentine international being one of the players who could be sacrificed.

It is suggested that the Nerazzurri would be ready to sell Martinez if they receive an offer of around €80m (£70.8m) from Spurs for the 25-year-old.

Spurs Web Opinion

We know that Martinez was previously a target for Tottenham when Paratici was in charge but it remains to be seen if the Argentine is still on the club’s radar.

Besides, it is premature to talk about replacements for Kane as it is far from certain at the moment that Spurs would be open to selling the 29-year-old.
