Report: Spurs could turn to prolific Bundesliga star to replace Harry Kane

Football.London have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur could make a move for RB Leipzig striker, Andre Silva, if Harry Kane leaves the club in the near future.

Tottenham held firm amidst Manchester City’s approach for Kane during the summer transfer window.

When the England captain’s future at the club looked uncertain, the North London club were being linked with moves for the likes of Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic and Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez.

It remains to be seen whether City will reignite their interest in Kane in the future, with some sources suggesting that Pep Guardiola’s men are unlikely to do so.

If Football.London’s latest update is to be believed, if Spurs do run the risk of losing the 28-year-old, they might decide to move for Silva, who completed a transfer to Leipzig just this summer following two prolific campaigns for Eintracht Frankfurt.

The report claims that the Portuguese international ‘will secure a big move away from Leipzig in the near future’, and that Spurs could look at him as an option, depending on the developments surrounding Kane’s future.

Spurs Web Opinion

If we do lose Kane, then the club would likely need to spend big on a Vlahovic or Martinez type of signing. While I rate Silva highly and would love to have him as Kane’s backup/partner, the Portuguese striker is not quite good enough to replace the goals that we would be losing in the event of Kane’s departure.
