Report: Spurs defender does not want to return to North London until end of the season

Kyle Walker-Peters wants to stay and complete the season with Southampton rather than return to Tottenham Hotspur, according to Sky Sports.

Premier League clubs have already voted to allow players on loan to extend their loan spells until the end of the season providing that clubs can afford to keep them (The Sun).

Walker-Peters has played just one game since moving to Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side in January (transfermarkt).

However, Sky Sports claim that the Saints are keen to keep the defender until the end of the season and help him continue his career progression.

It is also said that they will be assessing the 23-year-old closely in order to decide whether or not to make a permanent offer for him at the end of the season.

The report claims that Tottenham are willing to listen to offers for the right-back once the transfer window opens.

The Spurs academy graduate revealed recently that he has not given up hope of making the grade at North London and wants to impress Jose Mourinho in pre-season (Times).

Spurs Web Opinion

Walker-Peters is an extremely likeable guy and I was desperate for him to succeed at Spurs. However, it is clear by now that he doesn’t have a future at the club. Jose doesn’t seem to rate him and I expect him to be sold permanently in the summer.
