Report: Spurs defender has been offered to a number of Ligue 1 clubs

Foot Mercato reporter Sebastien Denis has revealed that Tottenham have offered Davinson Sanchez to a number of French sides since the January transfer window.

Even though Sanchez has been widely tipped to leave Spurs since the start of the summer (Football.London), the 27-year-old impressed during pre-season and he delivered a solid display in the club’s opening game of the season against Brentford after replacing the concussed Crisitan Romero on 12 minutes.

However, the Colombian is still expected to head out the exit door before the transfer deadline, with L’Equipe reporting a couple of days ago that he has emerged as a target for Monaco.

The outlet stated that the Ligue 1 side are expected to soon launch an offer for the Tottenham man over the coming days.

Davinson Sanchez offered to other French clubs

Denis has now taken to social media to state that Sanchez has been offered to a number of French clubs over the past six months, including Monaco, Lyon, Strasbourg and Nice.

The journalist claimed that Monaco began talks over a deal for the former Ajax man a few weeks ago but adds that Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo remains the club’s top priority.

Denis added that Galatarasaray and Spartak Moscow were also unsuccessful with their attempts to sign Sanchez earlier this window, with the player now said to be trying to ‘find a way out of Spurs’ before the September 2 deadline.

Sanchez did well against Burnley and was one of Tottenham’s standout players in the pre-season friendly against Barcelona.

However, the Colombian is simply not good enough on the ball to play in Ange’s system, which is why selling him would absolutely be the right decision.

Having said that, the fact that Ange named the 27-year-old on the bench ahead of Eric Dier suggests that the former Ajax man is perhaps starting to win over the Australian.
