Report: Spurs defender is keen on a transfer to Brazilian club this summer

According to Globo, Davinson Sanchez is keen on making a switch to Brazilian giants Flamengo this summer.

It is evident that Sanchez has likely already played his final game for Tottenham, with Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra reporting last week that the Lilywhites hierarchy, as well as the player, feel that the time has come to part ways.

This was also backed up by Football.London’s Alasdair Gold, who revealed on Monday that wholesale changes are likely in the centre-back role at Spurs this summer, with the 27-year-old expected to be one of the players sacrificed.

Davinson Sanchez could move back to South America

Brazilain outlet Globo have now suggested that a return to South America could be on the cards for Sanchez, who has allegedly been offered to Flamengo.

The publication reveals that the centre-back is keen on making the move and that if the transfer does go through, his salary would be in line with the highest earners in the Flamengo squad.

However, it is explained that the Brazilian outfit are currently prioritising additions in the middle of the park, with Atletico Mineiro’s Allan and River Plae’s Nicolas de la Cruz on their radar.

One would have thought that despite his struggles over the last couple of years, Sanchez would be of interest to quite a few clubs in Europe.

In fact, he might even be a decent option for one of the newly promoted Premier League sides.

Perhaps, the 27-year-old wants to move back to South America for personal reasons.
