Report: Spurs defender snubs contract offer

Tottenham Hotspur have three high profile players who face an uncertain future in North London.

Toby Alderweireld, Christian Eriksen and Jan Vertonghen have been pivotal in the club’s progression over the past few seasons yet could all walk away from the Champions League finalists at the end of the current campaign.

Another player who could follow the trio out of the door in North London is Japhet Tanganga.

The 20-year-old is out of contract next summer after he penned a one-year deal last June (Spurs official).

Football Insider claim that the central defender has rejected the club’s first offer of a fresh contract.

The report suggests that Spurs will table an improved offer for the England Under-20 international such is their intention to get him to commit his future to the club.

Tanganga made his first team debut earlier this season when he featured for 66 minutes in the Carabao Cup defeat to Colchester.

Despite not appearing since Pochettino has kept him in his plans and continues to train with the first team squad.
