Football Insider have revealed that Clement Lenglet is expected to leave Tottenham when his loan spell ends in the summer if Antonio Conte does not extend his contract at the club.
Conte’s future at Spurs looks in major doubt, with the Lilywhites currently not on course to finish in the top four and with the Italian’s contract running out in June.
Football Insider explains that the 53-year-old was key to luring Lenglet to Tottenham on a season-long loan deal from Barcelona last summer.
If Conte does leave Spurs at the end of the season, it is explained that the Premier League side are not expected to pursue a permanent deal for the Frenchman.
The report reveals that Lenglet currently earns £204,000 and has three years left on his contract with Barcelona and that Spurs are unlikely to offer him an equivalent salary in order to keep him at the club beyond the end of this season.

Even if Spurs offer Conte a new contract and the Italian commits his future (which does not appear likely at the moment), I would still not expect the club to pursue a permanent deal for Lenglet.
The centre-back has not been an upgrade over Ben Davies at left centre-back, which is a position I expect Tottenham to strengthen in the summer and potentially hang on to the Welshman as a backup.
