Report: Spurs defender will undergo tests today to determine if his season is over

Football Insider have revealed that Sergio Reguilon will undergo tests today to determine whether he can return to action before the end of the season.

Reguilon has missed Tottenham’s last two matches against Leicester City and Liverpool, respectively with a groin problem.

Antonio Conte admitted last week that he is unsure if the Spaniard would be able to return to action again this campaign, given that there were only a couple of weeks left in the season (90 min).

According to Football Insider’s latest update, Reguilon will undergo a scan at Hotspur Way today to assess his potential return date.

The report claims that Tottenham could decide to let the left-back sit out the rest of the campaign and begin an enforced spell of rehabilitation.

This news comes amidst speculation suggesting that Reguilon might not have a future at Spurs, with The Evening Standard reporting last week that the former Real Madrid man is one of several players Spurs are willing to listen to offers for.

Even if Reguilon is passed fit to potentially return in time for the Burnley or Norwich games, one would expect Ryan Sessegnon to keep his place in the starting eleven. It seems like the Spaniard might have played his final game for Spurs as he has not quite been able to adapt to playing as a wing-back.
