Report: Spurs ‘desperate’ to offload player who is ‘relaxed’ about staying

The Athletic have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are desperately trying to sell Danny Rose before tonight’s transfer deadline.

Tottenham have made it clear that the left-back, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Newcastle, is surplus to requirements after not handing him a squad number.

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold recently admitted on his Youtube channel that while some clubs, including Genoa, had made enquiries about Rose, no team has shown a serious interest in signing the defender.

The Athletic have now claimed that Spurs are looking to offload the England international before the window shuts and suggested that he could even join an EFL club should a deal not be completed before the deadline tonight.

However, it was also reported that the 30-year-old is relaxed about staying at Spurs to reassess the options he has available in January and is also prepared to run his contract with Tottenham down and leave as a free agent next summer.
