Report: Spurs discover Bale is injured following arrival and how long he is set to be out for

The Tottenham Hotspur medical staff discovered that Gareth Bale was carrying an injury upon his arrival at the club’s training ground earlier today.

Spanish news outlet Marca claim that the Real Madrid winger will miss at least the next four weeks of action for Spurs due to an unspecified injury after undergoing an assessment at Hotspur Way.

The Welsh international made the journey from Madrid to Luton airport on Tottenham’s private jet along with left-back Sergio Reguilon earlier this morning to tie up his return to the North Londoners on a season-long loan deal, seven years after departing.

The 31-year-old originally joined Spurs from Southampton in 2007 before moving to the La La champions for a what was at the tie a world record £85m in 2013.

Bale found himself marginalised under Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane and spent the last two years struggling to get in the side.

Spurs were set to put Bale on intensive training regime for the next month to get his fitness levels up, but it now remains to be seen whether this will have to be delayed (Daily Mail).
