Sports Lens have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur will not get involved in a bidding war with Chelsea or Arsenal for Ivan Toney this summer.
Over the last few months, it has been reported that Tottenham are set to battle the likes of Arsenal, Newcastle United, Manchester United and Chelsea for Toney’s signature this summer (HITC).
Just a couple of days ago, Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg revealed that West Ham had also enquired about the 27-year-old and were informed that the player would be available for just £30m-£40m this summer.
Tottenham don’t want Ivan Toney bidding war
However, Sports Lens have now dismissed the above claim, stating that Brentford will demand £60m for Toney even though he has just a year left on his contract.
The report says that while Spurs have shown interest in the England international, the Lilywhites, Man Utd and West Ham will only push ahead with moves for the striker if Chelsea and Arsenal do not get involved.
The publication adds that the Blues and the Gunners have both monitored the Bees star closely and have prepared detailed scouting reports on the centre-forward but it is unclear as of now if they will make an offer.

While I can understand Spurs being wary of competition from Arsenal, I do not see why Postecoglou’s men would feat Chelsea in the race for Toney.
The Blues will not be able to offer the striker Champions League football and their current financial predicament means that they are unlikely to be able to outbid the Lilywhites.
